For several years now, in varying stages of spiritual health, I have prayed against the “Adult Mega Store” advertised on a GIGANTIC, brilliantly colored billboard viewed daily by tens of thousands of commuters, vacationers and tourists.
The children of these traveling folks are also viewing this sign, many practicing their newly developing reading skills….”Mom! Dad! Let’s go there! That looks like a fun place!”
Located on HWY 101 in Central California, this sign is the proverbial tip of the iceberg.
The owner of this sign has been given power to expand his kingdom of pornography outlets throughout the western coast of the U.S.A., with an unknown large number of stores scattered up and down the state of California.
He has made piles of money, “hand over fist.”
His wife is dying from a rare and incurable disease which no doctor on the planet can even treat.
In the early part of this year, the Lord Jesus touched my life and set me radically and completely free from many life threatening addictions.
When He set me free from religion, He freed me from everything all at once.
Though I confessed Christ nineteen years ago, the demonic “sponsors” of these addictions kept strongholds in my life from which they attacked seemingly at will.
There is only one way the believer may continue in habitual sin; the religious spirit must be present to provide a covering for the weaker demons which have imprisoned so many in the church today.
To be bound by the spirit of religion is the most damaging and insidious of all addictions, defined in this context as “having the form of godliness but denying the power thereof.”
The New King James puts it like this:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
(2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Denying the power to do what?
The POWER TO CHANGE.
How many times have you said or heard the words,”I want to stop but I just can’t.”
Nestled securely under the demonic covering of religion, one will always find, in some form or another, a writhing mass of besetting sins.
To make sure we’re all on the same page, I’ll name a few.
Impatience, gluttony, gossip, pride, haughtiness, unbelief, arrogance, bitterness, malice, lust, envy…
The following quote from David Wilkerson sums up the miserable existence of the Christian bound by a religious demon:
“Sin causes Christians to become craven cowards who live in humiliating defeat. They can’t stand up with courage against sin because of the secret sin in their own lives. They excuse the sins of others because of the disobedience in their own hearts and they can’t preach victory because they live in defeat. Some of them once knew what it was like to live victoriously, taking vengeance against sin, having fulfilled Christ’s righteousness in their own lives. They experienced the power, the courage, the blessings that come to those who are obedient to the Lord. Today they are but a shadow of their old selves. Now they hang their heads in shame, unable to look the world in the eye, victimized by a sin that rules their lives. A besetting sin has robbed them of their spiritual vitality and one enemy after another is raised up against them.”
Our most recent journey past the GIGANTIC porn advertisement, found me in a state of such vigorous spiritual health that I welcomed the opportunity to rebuke the demons which darkened the air around that sign in a thick swarm of perversion and violence.
“Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again.”
(James 5:16-18)~msg~
Heaven was pleased with that passing but deadly swat at those devils, for yesterday I received a call from a friend who lives hundreds of miles away, telling me that he had spoken with the owner of the sign and prompting me to seek God for the vital strategic intelligence I am sharing with you today.
Consider for a moment, the thousands of men, women and children whose lives are powerfully impacted by the darkness which floods from these pornography outlets. Husbands, softened in their convictions, pursue extramarital affairs. Wives, made vulnerable by the shock and offense of discovering their husbands to “not be the men they thought they were”, are led into that harmless office flirtation which quickly explodes into full blown adultery. Children, sleeping in their beds are harrassed mercilessly by demons of homosexuality; by terror and that dark stalking thing which hopes to devour them through the satanic appetites of a pedophile.
Allow the Lord to open your vision and clearly SEE with me, the pastors, prophets, evangelists, teachers and yes, apostles, who, led by cords of wickedness into these establishments and tormented by self loathing, frequently revisit the PLAN; the PLAN to end their lives and “save” everyone from their secret contamination. Some of these anointed and called ones, are overcome and self destruct, though this is considered premature execution and not what the enemy was hoping for. Military strategy demands the biggest target, the most bang for the buck. Spiritual leaders can only release the measure of victory and breakthrough they actually possess, not what they wish they had. SEE the defiled fountains of ministry from which so many are unwittingly drinking. Observe, by the Spirit of God, the silent torment of the spouses of those bound; the shame, rejection, guilt and anger which lay heavy upon the households of hundreds of thousands in Califonia alone. Keep looking please, and watch with me as marriages dissolve, children are corrupted when they stumble innocently upon the “porn stash.” See the confusion, bitterness and offense poison the atmosphere of community after community.
Let’s not forget the coaches, Boy Scout leaders, nursery care workers and Sunday School teachers who are secretly bound up in the sexual compulsion fueled by pornography.
Some have tried to make this addiction to pornography purely a man’s secret battle. This is not true by a long shot. Women comprise the biggest demographic currently being targeted by the porn industry. That’s our mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and grandmothers…for you folks that are still struggling to wrap your mind around the implications of this. The percentage ticker on the number of women becoming addicted to porn is literally spinning with each passing month. How many abortions do you suppose are conducted as a result of lust fanned into a blaze of momentary indiscretion?
One might argue that the proliferation of internet porn is far more damaging and for the sake of this conversation, I agree. Understand, though, that our agreement does not negate the very real fact that we are presented with a divinely appointed opportunity to advance the Kingdom of Heaven in a dynamic and explosive way.
My buddy told me that he while he was witnessing to this man about how Jesus had saved his life, he kept seeing the business owner standing behind a pulpit, sharing his testimony of a God who is mighty to save.
The King of Glory invites us to join with the Host of Heaven and run like madmen through the spirit realm, overturning every injustice, freeing the captives and commanding hope into the most hopeless situations.
He has given us His power and authority to crush the enemy everywhere we encounter him. Do you know that the devil and his demons run, fly, hop and slither as fast as their leathery appendages can carry them…AWAY FROM THOSE WHO HAVE STEPPED INTO THEIR TRUE IDENTITY IN CHRIST!?!?
God is doing a restorative work unlike anything that has ever been seen on the planet. His sons and daughters who have been held captive by dark jailers are being radically set free all over the globe and drawn into a new Captivity. We are being captured by the Beauty of of His Holiness. We are being imprisoned by an exhilarating and inescapable Freedom.
Can you feel that? That’s His power to set you free.
Embrace the fire of His love and welcome the Bride Groom God into the deepest chambers of your heart. Ask for the Spirit of Grace and Supplication. Invite the King into your self protecting ways and ask Him to incinerate them before the heat of His gaze. Spirit of God, I thank You for igniting the hearts of those reading right now, with a nuclear blast of Abba’s Fiery Love. Utterly consume every idol of self reliance, material wealth and earthly kingdom building. Pour Your love through us in this late hour on the earth.
Thank You for leading us into impossibility that we might STOMP it as you watch over us with Your spectacular grin.
God wants to save this man.
God wants to heal this man’s wife.
God wants to restore entire communities and cities to Himself.
God wants to replace every one of those porn shops with outlets of intercessory prayer and prophetic worship.
God wants to heal marriages and set children free from the demonic oppression released on them by the sins of their parents.
God wants to do all of the above through you.
God wants to revive us far beyond where we are right now…Raise us up…Soak us with the fragrance of His Glory and send us with shouts of laughter into the darkest, most vile corners of perversion and dens of iniquity on earth.
Forget about what you think you know concerning prayer, fasting, and the study of His Word.
If you are still bound, struggling with this and that…you obviously don’t know what you need to know.
He is doing a new thing in this late hour on the earth!
Can you perceive it?

“What you do about the sin in your life determines how your enemies will behave. Victory over besetting sin causes all your other enemies to flee. Worry, fear, guilt, anxiety, depression, restlessness, loneliness – all are your enemies. But they can harm you only when sin turns you into an unprotected target. The righteous are as bold as a lion. They have a clear mind and conscience and that is a fortress these enemies cannot overrun. Do you want victory over all your enemies? Then go at it the right way by dealing ferociously with your besetting sin. Remove the accursed thing in your life and you will become mighty in God.”
